Eating in at the Spread

On the first floor of the hotel, overlooking the High Street, the dining room provides an opportunity to enjoy good food and a relaxed atmosphere. Dinner is served from 6pm to 8.30pm throughout the year. Non-residents are welcome.

We use the best local ingredients in simple, freshly-prepared dishes. Vegetarians and carnivores alike should find something to enjoy, with the menu varying according to availability and season.

Wine is sourced from small independent winemakers by Alliance Wines of Beith and includes old favourites and exciting new options from around the world. Our meat is sourced for us by Allan Learmonth (on the opposite side of the High St) and can be traced to individual Borders farms.

Our most recent discovery is wonderful Organic ice-cream from Over Langshaw Farm just outside Galashiels.

Cafe Bar

This cosy room on the ground floor of the hotel is available for parties of up to 16. We regret that during the winter we can only cater for pre-booked lunches.

Accessibility

The Cafe Bar is on the ground floor. We have been unable to fit a stairlift due to the age and nature of the building, however, the stairs leading to the dining room are not steep.

Real Ale

During the winter months, low sales mean we will have Real Ale in bottles as a matter of course. However, if you are able to give us a week's notice, we will be happy to order in draught Farne Island from the Hadrian and Border Brewery.
