Local Events

For a list of events throughout the region which are searchable by date and type, please see the Border Events website.

Cycling

The 7stanes mountain biking project There are a number of new waymarked cycling trails (both on and off road) around the town.

Jedburgh is less than 90 minutes drive from the mountain-biking trails at Newcastleton and in the Glentress Forest near Peebles which are both part of the 7 stanes project.

We have secure indoor cycle storage facilities, and can wash and dry muddy kit on request. Do please remember to ask for a room with a bath if you think you'll need one....

The Borders roads are also very popular with motorcyclists, with the Roman Road near St Boswells and the roads around Kielder across the border in Northumberland being particular favourites. The road to Lilliesleaf

Walking

Cessford Castle - one of the Kerr's Long distance walks which pass through Jedburgh include St Cuthbert's Way and the Borders Abbeys Way circular route. John is a keen walker himself, and we can arrange packed lunches and a taxi to ferry you to and from your start and end points if needed.
There are several companies which offer a luggage carrying service, and some will arrange to book accommodation for you as well.

Companies we are aware of include Easyways (St Cuthbert's), Macs Adventure (St Cuthbert's), and Make Tracks (St Cuthbert's and the Borders Abbeys Way)

If you would prefer to book directly with us, we may be able to help with luggage transfer as well.

You can also join those who follow the Jethart Callant on various ride-outs during the Festival in July.

Golf

If you prefer more leisurely pursuits, there are twenty-one golf courses in the Borders which are part of the 'Freedom of the Fairways' golf passport scheme. The passport provides either three or five days of golf and is valid between 1 April and 31 October. Short Break Dinner, B&B packages are available throughout the year to complement the Passport.
